Born March 3, 1929 - children's poet and novelist, translator of children's poems.
Since childhood, she wrote poetry, but she believed that she had no literary ability, so she chose the profession of a linguist. In 1953 she graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University, studied in postgraduate studies in general and comparative linguistics. At the same time she worked as a translator.
Literary translations of children's poems began with the fact that a Swedish power engineer, Mr. Borgkvist, came to Russia on business, who, having met a young translator, found out that she loved Swedish poetry, and later sent her a collection of Swedish folk children's songs for her little son. The first translations of the poems were made for personal use, but her husband, Lev Tokmakov, took them to the publishing house, and they were accepted. A year later, the first book of her own poems, "Trees", was published, written together with Lev Tokmakov.
