Ivan Alexandrovich Maryanenko - Ukrainian theater and film actor, director, teacher. Born in the Kirovograd region (Ukraine) near the village of Maryanovka. His real name is Petlishenko. The actor grew up in a poor peasant family. His career began in 1895, when the famous Ukrainian playwright Mark Kropyvnytskyi accepted the young Ivan into his troupe, and Ivan Alexandrovich took a pseudonym in honor of his native village - Maryanenko. The role of Vlas in the play "Olesya" (by M. Kropivnitsky) the actor marked his first creative success. The society of Ukrainian actors in 1915 was formed precisely thanks to Ivan Alexandrovich and brought together the best actors and luminaries (including P.K.Saksagansky and M.K. Zankovetskaya).
During this period, Ivan Alexandrovich had his first experience in productions - he directed the production of the work "Blue Rose" by Lesya Ukrainka and "Tales of the Old Mill" by Alexander Chernenko.
