Born February 9, 1953, Belfast, Northern Ireland is an Irish actor who began his career in 1976 at The Citizens Theater in Glasgow. Participant of the theatrical project of Peter Brook, interpreting the epic "Mahabharata" (as Ashwatthama).

Some of his best-known films include Reason, Jane Eyre, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 2 - Cradle of Life, The Phantom of the Opera and Munich. On TV - the role of Guy Julius Caesar in the TV series Rome (HBO) and Mance the Raider in the TV series Game of Thrones.
