Born April 24, 1899 in the village of Dovzhik, Kharkov province, Russian Empire.
In 1923 he began his stage activity at the Kharkiv National Theater. T.G. Shevchenko, then there were Kiev, Kremenchug, Poltava, Krasnozavodsk, since 1929 - an actor of the Odessa Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater.
In the early 1930s he left the Odessa Derzhdrama Theater. First he worked at the Odessa and then Kiev film studios, in 1936 he returned to the Odessa theater.
In cinema since 1930.
People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1960) .
He passed away on October 16, 1986 in Odessa.
