Sting was born, aka Gordon Sumner, in October 1951 in the north of England in the town of Wallsend. Father owned a dairy shop, mother was a hairdresser. It is to her that he owes his love of music and the ability to play the piano. At the age of 10, he first picked up a guitar, at school he listened to the play of Jimi Hendrix, subsequently changed several professions, having managed to try himself as a conductor, tax inspector and English teacher. However, his love for music turned out to be stronger, and, driven by a desire to connect his future with it, he goes to audition for a local jazz band and successfully passes it. Performs in its composition for a while, then moves to another, and then organizes his own team.
His early creative work was not wildly popular, but it brought something more important - experience and connections in the music world. Together with guitarist Andy Summerson and drummer Steward Copeland, he organized The Police, the musician's first serious project to make him successful. Around the same time, a film with Sting is released - the crime drama Quadrofenia about a group of young guys strolling through the streets of London. Created in 1977, the group disbanded after 7 years, being at the peak of its popularity. The singer went on a free voyage. Actually, the events of his later life did not make him regret leaving. His first album was released in 1985, and since then he has recorded 10 more records, each of which was successful, in addition, he wrote soundtracks for films, and almost everyone received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Song, and the collection Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984–1994 is considered an example of modern musical poetry. Regarding his work in films, the most striking roles of Sting are Fade Root in the film adaptation of Dune and former mafia JD in the film Lock, Stock, Two Barrels.
