Born on June 17, 1964 in Pilsen on Borech, Czechoslovakia.
Mother is Ukrainian, father is Czech.
At the age of 6 I went to a secondary school in Pilsen-Dubravec. From an early age he was fond of football, at the age of 14 he played for the national team of cadets.
But a year later, like his older brother Peter, he became seriously interested in theater and began to play in the amateur theater of the Pilsen House of Railway Workers (DAS) under the direction of Ladislav Sinek. Ivan Fenech performed in plays by Shakespeare, Goldoni. Then he was an actor in the theater groups of Milan Rybak and Michal Novak, in the Dominik Theater. Ivan Franek, together with his brother Petr Franek, performed on various theatrical stages, in amateur and professional theater companies.
Along with playing in the theater, Ivan Franek graduated from the evening engineering school in Shkodovets, where he received his secondary education.
Graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 1989. At the Academy, he met a student-set designer from France Claire and in the fall of 1989 left with her for an internship in France.
1989-1998 - actor and artist of the Jean-Pierre Lescot puppet theater in Paris.
Since 1996, he made his debut on French TV in the series “Cordier - Law Enforcement Officers”. Since 2000 - in the cinema.
In 2001, he played the main role of Tobias in the Italian director Silvia's film Brucio nel vento. The film was an international success and since 2002 Ivan Franek has been actively filming in Italy and France.
Acting good luck - Dilovan in Hiner Saleem's Vodka Lemon (2003) and Rosso in the Italian drama Mechanical Province (2005).
In 2007 he first appeared in Czech cinema - Karel in the drama "Secrets / Secrets". In 2008 he starred in the Czech film "Rok v krajine mlhy".
Has two children - Nina and Charlie from his first marriage. Lives in France in a civil marriage with actress and dancer Joelle.
Remains a citizen of the Czech Republic.
