Born May 26, 1959, Norresandby, Denmark - Danish film director, producer and screenwriter. Laureate of numerous film festivals.
After graduating from high school, he tried unsuccessfully to enter the Danish National Film School. After completing his education at Copenhagen University, he worked in television. In 1992 he became the head of the television drama department.
Became famous for his film "Night Watch". The interest in his work was so high that three years later the director was invited to Hollywood to shoot a remake of the same name. The dramatic film I Am Dina, directed by Bornedal in 2002 with the participation of Maria Bonnevie and Gerard Depardieu, was nominated for the Best Film of the Year at the Amanda Awards.
In 2001 he created his own theater.
In 2014, Ole was the creator of the historical series 1864, which was released on the Danish national TV channel DR1.
Continues to work both at home and in the States.
