Jones was born in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas Women before working briefly as a fashion model before landing co-starring self-centered and money-hungry Tony Childs in the UPN sitcom Girlfriends in 2000. She starred on the show from 2000 to 2006 and left in May 2006, after six seasons, as she did not renew her filming contract. Since then, Jones has starred in several films, most notably Perfect Christmas, The Outsiders, and The Movie Star in Epaulets, and has appeared as the lead actress in several independent comedies.
