Born April 27, 1968, Iasi - Romanian film director and screenwriter.
He graduated from Yasi University with a degree in English literature, in 1998 he received his second higher education at the University of Cinema in Bucharest. The full-length debut took place in 2002. The 2007 film “4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days” won the Palme d'Or at the 60th Cannes Film Festival, making Mungiu the first Romanian director to receive the award. In addition, the film received the FIPRESCI prize at the same festival.
