James Wilby (born 20 February 1958) is an English television and theater actor.
Born in Rangoon. He was educated at a school in Cumbria, and from there went to study for a degree in mathematics at Gray College, Durham University and then at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
He is married to Shana Louise and has four children: Barnaby John Locksley, Florence Hannah Mary, Nathaniel Jerome, and Jesse Jack. One of his many hobbies includes yachting. He is also an accomplished and well-read wine connoisseur.
