Born in Gorky on April 7, 1959.
At the age of six he began to study music.
In 1974, after graduating from a music school in the violin class, he entered the Gorky muses. school for the department of music theory. In 1978 he continued his education at the Gorky Conservatory (class of S. I. Savenko). In 1985 he defended his diploma on "The artistic evolution of the" Yes "group and the problems of art-rock".
Author of 8 albums for various compositions of electronic and acoustic instruments, 2 of which were published by Melodiya - Summer City (86) and Portrait of a Boy (89). Both albums were recorded in collaboration with the "Horizon" group. Produced by Y. Saulsky. In 2000 the albums were reissued in CD format by the company "BOHEME MUSIC" ("Progressive").
Kornilov is the author of the rock ballet "Fahrenheit 451". He wrote music for more than 10 dramatic performances; among them - "Fire in the Steppe" (Moscow Art Theater), "Archive of Countess D." (theater named after Yermolova), "Warrior" (theater named after R. Simonov), "Romeo and Jeanette" (Nizhny Novgorod drama theater), "A man will come" (Minsk Youth Theater), "Children ?!", "Invitation to the stalls" (theater on Malaya Bronnaya), etc., music for the TV series "Airport" and the documentary "Russia. Faces of Time."
S. Kornilov's music was used by more than 50 theaters of the Soviet and post-Soviet space, in documentaries and on TV.
