The British team "Boo Radleys" was formed in 1988, having borrowed its name from the character of the novel by Harper Lee "To Kill a Mockingbird". The original line-up consisted of guitarist and songwriter Martin Carr (born November 29, 1968), Singing Guitarist Sice (Simon Rowbottom, born June 18, 1969), bassist Tim Brown and drummer Steve Hewitt. The band released their debut album on the tiny Action Records label. "Ichabod and I" was made in the shoegaze style, of which the band "My Bloody Valentine" was a prominent representative. The record did not create any sensation, but the team was noticed by the famous British DJ John Peel, who helped her to organize a contract with Rough Trade Records.
