Ori Kaplan was born in 1969 in Israel. He later emigrated to the United States where he graduated from college and became a world renowned jazz musician. He played the saxophone in various musical groups, and also recorded albums (there are 11 discs in the discography). I got into the cinema quite by accident, in 2006, playing in the film Forgiveness directed by Udi Aloni (creator of the film Art / Violence and Local Angel). It was a drama about an American who ended up in a psychiatric clinic in Israel, built on the site of a mass execution of local villagers. The main character sees ghosts, and he enters into dialogues with them, gradually learning the terrible history of this place. Itai Tiran and Clara Khoury played the main roles in the film, and Ori Kaplan played the saxophonist in one of the episodes. The film with the original story was warmly received by critics, although he did not receive any prizes at the festivals.
