Born April 3, 1967, Bucharest - Romanian film director and screenwriter.
He was engaged in painting, in 1992 he entered the painting department at the Higher School of Visual Arts in Geneva. A year later, he dropped out of school and began to study cinema. Puyu's first two films received critical acclaim and awards. Worldwide success came to him with the film Death of Mr. Lazarescu (2005), for which he received 47 awards. He was the screenwriter of Lucian Pintilie's film Niki Ardelyan, retired colonel (in the French box office - Niki and Flo, 2003).
