Ballet dancer, choreographer. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1957) .
Graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School. In 1926-1933 he was a dancer, in 1942-1950 and in 1955-1975 he was a choreographer of the Theater of Opera and Ballet. CM. Kirov.
In 1969 he was the initiator of the creation and artistic director of the Leningrad troupe "Choreographic Miniatures".
