Born in Irkutsk on May 16, 1920 in the family of an engineer.
After graduation he worked in newspapers. In 1938 he entered the Faculty of Journalism of the Ural State University named after A.M. Gorky. After graduating from the university, he worked in the large circulation of the Verkh-Isetsky metallurgical plant. After demobilization from the army, he taught a course in the history of journalism at the Ural State University (1946-1947), was the executive secretary of the regional newspaper Uralsky Rabochy (1949). Member of the Writers' Union of the USSR since 1951. From the moment of the foundation of the magazine "Ural" in 1958 to 1959 he was its chief editor.
Died in Moscow on January 24, 1976.
