Frank Griebe is considered one of the best cameramen in Germany. In 1998 he was awarded the German Film Prize for Hibernation (1997) and Birds of passage (Trains'n'Roses; 1998). In 1999 he received the same award for the second time for the film "Run Lola Run" (1998). The Princess and the Warrior (2000) was the fourth Tickwer film in which Griebe worked as director of photography; for this film he was nominated for the 2001 Europian Film Award. As a cinematographer, Griebe is credited with films such as Gigantics (1999; directed by Sebastian Schipper), Naked (2001; directed by Doris Derrie) and Berlin Blues (2002) directed by Leander Haussmann.
