Born April 15, 1959 in Guangdong Province (China) - Chinese scriptwriter, director, producer and actor.
In 1969 he immigrated with his parents to Hong Kong, which at that time belonged to Great Britain. As a child, Fruit Chan watched Soviet films, which sparked his interest in cinema.
He made his big screen debut in 1984 in the movie City Lights. His directorial debut was the 1985 film Heart of the Dragon.
Fruit Chan rose to prominence in 1997 with the release of Made in Hong Kong, which won numerous international awards.
