Born June 21, 1947, Chicago, Illinois is an American theater, film, and television actor.
Graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor's degree and then received an MA from the Yale School of Drama. For some time he worked in the theater, after which he moved to New York to pursue an acting career.
In the mid-1970s, Gross began acting in films and television. His first success came in 1982 with his role in the TV series "Family Ties".
Gross played about a hundred roles, the most famous of which was the role of the half-insane graboid hunter Bert Gummer from the Tremors franchise.
