Born March 19, 1926 in Saratov. In 1944 he graduated from the studio of the Saratov Opera and Ballet Theater; in 1942-46 he worked in this theater, performed the leading parts of the classical and characteristic repertoire. After classes in the improvement class of the Leningrad Choreographic School (1946-47; teacher B.V. Shavrov), until 1967 - in the troupe of the Theater. Kirov.
Since 1962 - teacher at the Leningrad Choreographic School, since 1964 - head. Department of Choreography, Institute of Culture. Krupskaya, taught abroad.
