Was born on December 29, 1936 in Petrozavodsk. Graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School named after I. A. Ya. Vaganova in the class of F. Balabina in 1956. 1956-1991 - Ballet soloist of the Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after SM Kirov, then - teacher-tutor. Since 1963 he has been teaching at the school (now the Academy of Russian Ballet), professor, among the students there are outstanding dancers F. Ruzimatov, R. Abdyev, V. Samodurov.
