Born on January 16, 1932 in Tbilisi.
Graduated from the Sh. Rustaveli Theater Institute (teachers D. Aleksidze, A. Vasadze, A. Khorava) (1954).
In 1954 he was admitted to the troupe of the K. Mardzhanishvili Theater
Artist and Artistic Director of the K. Marjanishvili Theater (Tbilisi, Georgia) .
He played his first major role in 1955 in the play "The Exile" by V. Pshavela (Chonta).
1967 to 1975 - Artist of the Drama Theater in the city of Rustavi.
In 1975 he returned to the K. Mardzhanishvili Theater,
in 1996 he became the artistic director of this theater.
Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR (1965)
People's Artist of the USSR (1979) .
Participates in the performance of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater "Antigone"
