Graduate of the Vakhtangov School (1931-1935), actor of the Vakhtangov Theater (1932-1985). Pokrovsky was one of the best artists of the Vakhtangov troupe. He knew how to create bright, juicy and accurate characters. He possessed subtle humor and an outstanding comedic gift. Honored Artist of Russia (1955).
