Laurent Terzieff (Chemerzin) comes from an aristocratic Russian family. The famous French actor was born in 1935. Laurent's father is a Russian emigre, a professional sculptor. Grandfather was a nobleman and owner of the largest stud farm near St. Petersburg. Also Abner Chemerzin was a mathematician and a good connoisseur of French medieval poetry. The name of Laurent's grandfather is entered in the Golden Book (this book included the names of those who contributed to the prosperity of the Russian Empire).
Laurent never studied and did not want to become an actor, his hobbies were philosophy and poetry. Only after working with Roger Blain, the young man decides to choose an acting career for himself.
In 1953 he played the first role in his life. The debut took place on the theater stage. In 1958, the first film with Laurent Terzieff was released - The Deceivers (directed by Marcel Carne). In this film, young Laurent starred with the already popular and famous actors Jean-Paul Belmando, Pascal Petit and Jacques Charrier. In 1961 he played in the film Roberto Rosellini. In the film Thou shalt not kill (1960) he played the main role.
