Born in 1971 in Baconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England.
Graduated from Oxford University with honors and began his professional career, writing music for advertising and television. Later he became assistant to composer Simon Boswell, with whom he worked on more than 20 films.
Since then, he has become a successful composer, writing scores for many of Kevin McDonald's films such as "The Last King of Scotland" (2006), "Touching the Void" (2003) and "One Day in September" (1999). Alex has also worked on The Parole Officer (2001), Trauma (2004) and others.
