Born on May 1, 1924 in Tiflis (now Tbilisi). In 1949 he graduated from the Tbilisi Theater Institute and began his creative career at the Shota Rustaveli Theater, but due to the fact that he acted a lot in films, he was forced to leave the stage (1956). Since 1953 - actor at the Georgia-Film studio; actively starred in films of various genres, showing the talent of a character actor.
