Soviet playwright, poet and theater critic.
From 1929 he published reports in newspapers. In 1935-1936 he was the head of the literary department and assistant director in the studio under the direction of N.P. Khmelev, in 1934-1937 - at the V.E. Meyerhold.
The author of memoirs about V.E. Meyerhold, recordings of interviews with him.
The author of the plays: "A long time ago" (1941, the film "Hussar Ballad" 1962), "The First Symphony" (1957), "Youth of the Theater" (staged in 1972) .
He was buried in Columbarium 1A of the Donskoy cemetery in Moscow.
