Successful figure skater and Honored Master of Sports of the USSR Alexander Gorelik, over 68 years of his life, managed not only to make a brilliant sports career, but also to try himself as a radio presenter, actor and sports commentator.

How many years Alexander Gorelik was engaged in figure skating is not exactly indicated anywhere. Like all famous athletes, he began to be engaged in his life's work from early childhood. Together with his first partner in figure skating, Tatyana Sharanova, he became the silver medalist of the USSR championship (1964) and won a bronze medal at the 1st Winter Spartakiad of the Peoples of the Soviet Union (1962). But in the arena of world sports, he became widely known as a partner of the talented figure skater Tatyana Zhuk, the younger sister of the famous USSR coach Stanislav Zhuk. The pair Zhuk-Gorelik won 1 bronze (1965) and 2 silver medals (1966, 1968) for the Soviet Union at the annual World Figure Skating Championships. Their greatest achievement was silver at the Winter Olympics, which were held in France (1968). A year later, their couple broke up. As often happens with young athletes, Beetle left the sport due to pregnancy. Attempts to ride in tandem with other partners ended in failure.

After that Alexander decided to work on the ice as a coach. Especially for this he was educated at the State Center for Physical Culture and Sports. For some time he worked in the field of radio broadcasting, in the sports editorial office, which he left for a while due to the filming of a dramatic film about figure skating, where he was invited by the chief scriptwriter. The film with Alexander Gorelik in the title role "Blue Ice" was released in 1969.

After Tatyana Zhuk gave birth to a child, she and Gorelik skated together on ice in the circus for a while. Then Alexander became the official coach of the Soviet national team at the 1976 Winter Olympics.

In 2001 he began working as a sports commentator for the main Russian sports channel. Alexander Gorelik died at home in 2012.
