Born on July 16, 1884 in Georgievsk.
In 1906 he entered the Moscow Art Theater School.
In 1910, after graduating from the Faculty of Law of Moscow University, he began to work at the Kiev Solovtsov Theater, and in 1914-1916 - in the Kharkov Sinelnikov Entreprise.
Then he worked in Moscow theaters: Intimate, "The Bat" and others.
In 1918-1933 he was an actor in the Theater of the Former Korsh (later - the Moscow Drama Theater).
Since 1933 - actor TsTSA.
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1934) .
He passed away on April 16, 1947 in Moscow. He was buried at the 29th section of the Vagankovsky cemetery.
