Laurent Bunik was born on April 7, 1961, began his artistic career as a comic book illustrator, in parallel he wrote essays, plays and poems of a political vocation. His participation in drama workshops provides vague insights into directing actors in filming, which turned out to be his only baggage at the beginning of his directing career a few years later. He shoots several short films: "Red Fire" (Rouge Feu, 1987) and "Alligator" (l'Alligator, 1990) and the picture "Troubles, or the day of an ordinary woman" (Troubles ou la journee d'une femme ordinaire, 1994) which has brought him numerous awards and funding from key departments. In 1996, Laurent Bunick approaches feature films with "Select Hotel" with Julie Gaye. Two years later, he promoted further, signing a contract to shoot the film "Zonzon", which gives him his first real film role, Jamel Debuse. Now his name can be read along with the names of the main characters in the credits of the films, he completely changes his universe in the film "1999 - Madeleine", where one is looking for his soul mate, and then he removes "24 hours in the life of a woman" with Agnes Jaui in the main roles, inspired by the novel by Stefan Zweig. Eclectic, he changes again in 2007 with Daniel Otoy, Thierry Lermitte and Valerie Lemercier in The Guest, a comedy taken from the play of the same name by David Farao. This variation of the universe is consistent with the director's vision of his profession: cinema should excite, show reality differently, and it should be perceived just like that. In this sense, he goes even further in 2011 with "Q", a film showing the sensuality of unsimulated sexual intercourse.
