His surname is often mistakenly written as Tse due to the literal transmission of English ts and ignorance of the Cantonese dialect, the full name is English. Tse Ting-Fang, whale. ???) is a Chinese actor, director, producer, musician and composer. He is a member of the Emperor Entertainment Group. Initially learning martial arts through video and television, he later began to practice them professionally.
Nicholas is the eldest of two children born into a family of Hong Kong actors - Patrick Xie (Ch. ? ?) and actress Deborah Lee (Ch. ???), a Chinese woman from Canada. He has a younger sister, Jennifer Xie. Starting at St. George's School, he subsequently studied for a year at the Hong Kong International School, after which he dropped out in grade 10. He subsequently lived in Phoenix, Arizona and returned to Vancouver again. He subsequently studied music in Japan before returning to Hong Kong.
In 2006, Nicholas Xie married actress Cecilia Zhang (Ch. ???), and in 2007 their first child, Lucas, was born. In 2010, Nicholas became a father for the second time. His wife gave birth to a second son, who was named Quintius.
