In 1960-1963. studied at the correspondence department of the camera department of VGIK (workshop A. Golovnya). In 1965 he graduated from the directing department of VKSR (workshop of L. Trauberg). He worked as a director at the Lenfilm and Mosfilm film studios. Conducted a director's workshop at VKSR. Since 1991 - artistic director of the "Vera" studio .
