Ekaterina Gorina was born on June 24, 1992 in the glorious city of culture and intelligentsia - St. Petersburg. The girl grew up in a typical St. Petersburg family: her grandmother worked as an editor at a television channel, and her uncle was a philosopher. Since childhood, Katya was brought up on the films of the best independent directors - Lars von Trier, Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch. Katya Gorina got to the casting of the film Sisters, which became the first and last picture of Sergei Bodrov Jr. absolutely by accident and only because her grandmother insisted on it. The eight-year-old baby came to audition straight from a country cottage - in an old sweater and disheveled hair, while the rest of the applicants dazzled their eyes with their snow-white socks and neat dresses. Katya didn't really want to get this role, so she just told Bodrov various fictional stories, called herself Rita and gave someone else's phone number. However, the spontaneity and even the rebelliousness of the baby impressed the director so much that the others did not have a single chance to get the role of Dina. Having obtained Katya's real number, Bodrov was still able to persuade the wayward girl to play in his picture. The dramatic film Sisters was highly praised by critics and became an integral part of the culture of the 90s, and the roles of Katya Gorina and Oksana Akinshina impressed even the most cynical and indifferent viewers.
