The talented choreographer Dmitry Bryantsev was born on February 18, 1947 in the city of Leningrad.
In 1957 he was able to enter the school of choreography. After graduation in 1966, Dmitry got a job as a ballet dancer of the "Young Ballet" ensemble. Here he first staged ballet miniatures. In parallel with his work, in 1968 he again went to study, this time to the Institute of Theater Arts, choosing the choreography direction. Simultaneously with the graduation from the university in 1976, Dmitry became the Laureate of the competition of the best choreographers and transferred to the Opera and Ballet Theater.
The brilliantly performed roles of Dmitry Bryantsev in Galatea (1977) and Old Tango (1979) brought fame to the dancer, as well as the premiere of The Hussar Ballad, which was Bryantsev's successful work. Since 1981 he has been a choreographer in the theater. In 1996 Dmitry was awarded the Golden Mask Prize.
In 1997, he worked as a director for the creation of the performances "Placement of the Muses" and "Moscow for All Seasons".
On April 29, 1981, for the first time, the audience saw on stage the ballet in two acts "The Little Humpbacked Horse", skillfully staged by D. Bryantsev. For how many years Dmitry Bryantsev, while working on ballet productions, was never disappointed in failures, he always believed in success.
Dmitry Bryantsev had his own business and went to the Czech Republic on June 25, 2004. He was going to stay there for only five days. He had a very large amount of money with him. His body was found only in 2007, after which the remains of the choreographer were transported to Russia.
