Director, cameraman.
Born March 17, 1938 in Moscow. Graduated from the camera department of VGIK (1961, workshop of A.V. Galperin). Since 1955 he has been a laboratory assistant at the Department of Cinematography at VGIK. He worked as an operator of Leningrad TV. Shoots feature, commission and advertising films. Since 1989 - Artistic Director of the Neva Film Studio (LENFILM). In 2009, Yevgeny Mezentsev shot a documentary film "The Murder of Anna Politkovskaya".
He passed away after a serious illness at 2 am on February 11, 2010 in St. Petersburg. Buried at the Bolsheokhtinskoye cemetery.
