Elena Ferdinandovna Anderegg, the famous Soviet theater and film actress, was born on August 9, 1920 in Vladikavkaz, in Russia, in the federal subject of North Ossetia. Her family was extremely wealthy by Soviet standards. Father, Ferdinand Georgievich Anderegg, was one of the largest trade and industrial figures of those times.
