Niyaz Dautov was born in 1913. Studied at the studio at the Moscow Conservatory. From the beginning of the forties he performed as a soloist in various theaters, including in Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk. He was engaged in teaching work, worked as a director for many years and staged opera performances in theaters. In particular, he staged Carmen Bizet, Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades, Boris Godunov Mussorgsky, Cio-Cio-San Puccini and other performances. As a soloist in the theater, he was remembered for performing parts in Eugene Onegin, Rigoletto, Fausta, Othello and other productions.
Films with Niyaz Dautov are few. The opera singer worked all his life on the stage and starred in only one black-and-white film - Silva, which was released in 1944. But he played in it the main role of Edwin Volapyuk (Silva's lover). The director of this musical film was Alexander Ivanovsky (he directed such famous films in the USSR as Tiger Tamer, Dubrovsky, Decembrists). In addition to Niyaz Dautov, the main roles in the Silva melodrama were played by Zoya Smirnova-Nemirovich, Margarita Sakalis and Sergei Martinson. The next film adaptation of Silva was only in 1981, and the main role was played by Ivar Kalninsh, and the part of Edwin was performed by Alexey Steblyanko. The film was directed by the renowned director Ian Fried (Dog in the Manger, Pious Martha and other films). The opera singer Niyaz Dautov died in 1986 at an advanced age.
