Enrolled at Ysgol Maes Garmon High School in Mold, Flintshire. After some more time, he began to study acting in various youth theater associations.

In 1990, Rhys Ivans took part in the creation of a children's quiz and at the same time attracted the attention of fans of creativity. In addition, Ivans performed for some time with the rock group Super Furry Animals, demonstrating his vocal talent.
