Graduated from the Philosophy Faculty of Moscow State University (1971).
He taught philosophy at the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute named after Ulyanov-Lenin (1973-1974, LETI), ten years was in party work, holding positions from the instructor of the propaganda and agitation department of the district committee of the CPSU to the head of the cinematography sector of the culture department of the Leningrad regional committee of the CPSU (1983-1985).
