Born on August 20, 1948. Lives in St. Petersburg. Higher education (LGIK in 1972). He worked in the field of information technology. Supervised the patent service of one of the research institutes in Leningrad. Hobbies: painting, graphics, music. Due to a hand injury received in his youth, he had to give up piano lessons forever. But music has remained a strong hobby and faithful companion in life. In the early 70s he played (vocals, rhythm guitar) in the Leningrad ensemble "Argonauts", whose repertoire included several songs by Vitaly, including one of his first songs - "Ships", written on the verses of the poet Rod McQuin and some others, co-written with the Leningrad poet Viktor Bolshakov. In the mid-1970s, he collaborated with the poet Viktor Fedorov. In 1976 in Riga, the duo became a laureate of the song festival. In the early 1980s, Vitaly wrote music and songs for films of the Leningrad film studios: in 1982, songs to the poems of V. Bolshakov for the film "Boys" (directed by D. Asanova, studio "Lenfilm"); in 1983, music and songs to his own poems for the film "The Lesson of Law" (Documentary Film Studio); in 1986, music and songs to lyrics by V. Bolshakov for the film "Sentimental Journey to Potatoes", director D. Dolinin, Lenfilm studio; successful debut and work in the cinema, participation in television programs ("Music Ring", "Discs are spinning", etc.), concert activity that had already begun by that time, forced to take a serious decision. In 1986, Vitaly goes to work on the professional scene.
