Was born on February 9, 1970 in Kronstadt.
In 1993 he graduated from the St. Petersburg University of Architecture. Almost immediately after that, Ilya Maksimov began working as an animator at the Russian branch of the Capitol Multimedia Corporation. As a lead animator, Ilya took part in several projects of this company. In 1996-1997 Ilya worked at Rinat Gazizov's studio, where he was engaged in animation and character development. At the same time, he did illustrations for the World of the Child publishing house. Since 1997 Ilya Maksimov is one of the directors of the Melnitsa studio. He worked on the animated series "Technology" for the British TV company BBC, on the 3rd and 4th episodes of the animated series "Adventures in the Emerald City" for the company "NTV-Kino" and on the first full-length project of the studio "Melnitsa"
