Alexander Afanasyev - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
March 23, 1917 - September 4, 1987.
A wonderful character actor who outplayed many simple Russian men.
From 1936 to 1938, Alexander Afanasyev was an auxiliary actor of the Leningrad Small Opera House. From 1938 Afanasyev served in the army, and then took part in the Great Patriotic War. After demobilization in 1945, he worked for one year as the artistic director of the “Shipyard” club in Vladivostok, and from 1946 to 1957 he was an actor in the Primorsky Regional Theater named after Gorky. In 1957 Afanasyev moved to Leningrad and in 1960 became a member of the Lenfilm film studio.
