August 14, 1891, Novonikolaevka farm, Poltava province, Russian Empire - May 20, 1955, Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, USSR. People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1940) .
In 1913-1916 he studied at the music and drama school. Nikolai Lysenko in Kiev. Without finishing school, in 1916 he entered the Kiev "Young Theater", where he made his debut in the role of Creon ("King Oedipus" by Sophocles), where he worked until 1919. Vatulya was one of the founders of the Theater. Ivan Franko (Kiev), where he worked from the day of its foundation (Vinnitsa, 1920).
