Soviet theater and film actor, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, and Stalin Prize laureate Vladimir Gribkov was born in Voronezh in 1902. After studying at the parish school of his native city, Vladimir became a student at the Voronezh city school. Later, Gribkov entered the Voronezh Teachers' Seminary, and from the age of sixteen he studied at the Voronezh Pedagogical Institute.

In 1920, Vladimir got a job as an assistant clerk and police census officer in his city. A year later, Gribkov became a student at the Higher Theater Workshop. Since 1923 he studied at GITIS for several years. After studying at this institution, Vladimir became an actor of the Moscow Art Theater. At this time, the artist received his debut film role - then the first film with Vladimir Gribkov, entitled The Last Night, was released.

Then there was a service in the Red Army, which Gribkov did in Polotsk. After her, the artist took the position of artistic director at the Moscow Regional Mayakovsky Theater. After working here for three years, Vladimir moved to the Mosfilm film studio. In 1942 he got a job at the Kazakh TsOKS, and in 1944 he returned back to the Moscow Art Theater.
