Sergei Lukyanov was born in September 1910 (Nizhnee village). Originally from a mining family. The boy from the Donetsk region had little choice: after graduating from a mining school, he went to work at a mine. Also, in parallel, he took part in the action of the theatrical circle. There Sergey showed remarkable talents and at the end of the 20s, after the success of one of the performances, he was invited to the professional stage. Theatrical education, though incomplete, received in the studio of the Kharkov theater. For more than 10 years Sergei worked in theaters in Arkhangelsk, Donetsk, Kharkov, but in the end he stopped at the Yevgeny Vakhtangov Theater.
Already in 1944, Sergei made his debut as a film actor. But he really woke up famous in 1950. The film with Sergei Lukyanov Kuban Cossacks brought him real fame. The actor got used to his role so believably that he became the idol of more than one generation of women. But he needed only one - he met his love on the set of the same film. Clara Luchko is the woman who gave Sergei a daughter, Oksana.
After the success of the Kuban Cossacks, the actor's film career took off sharply. The roles of Sergei Lukyanov were very diverse: he played in comedies, and in dramas, and in historical films. Very often he starred with his wife.
The actor did not forget about the theater either. In the early 50s he received the Stalin Prize for the role of Yegor Bulychev in the play of the same name.
For a year he worked at the Mayakovsky Theater, after which he joined the Moscow Art Theater troupe. A couple of years later, he returned to where he started - the Yevgeny Vakhtangov Theater.
Sergei Lukyanov did not stop working in theater and cinema until his death. He was an unusually hardworking actor, but, as they say, God takes the best. At the age of 54, Sergei died of heart disease right on stage, while playing one of the, as always, brilliant roles.
