Franz Kafka has become a completely unique phenomenon in all world literature. Being a native of the Czech Republic, he preferred to write his works in German - apparently, the influence of his mother, who preferred to speak in German, affected. The future famous writer was born in Prague in 1883. After studying at the gymnasium, Kafka entered the Faculty of Law at Charles University, after which he received a doctorate in law. His father introduced him to jurisprudence - despite his son's obvious penchant for literature, he nevertheless insisted on his own: it has always been, the despoticness and assertiveness of Herman Kafka, in the end, lead to the fact that Franz breaks family ties early, leaves parental home and wanders for a long time in rented rooms.
In 1908, Kafka joined the insurance department, where he worked for almost 15 years, however, due to his poor health, he decides to retire ahead of time. The work depressed the writer, suppressed his talent, took away too much energy, although, despite the difficulties, he still managed to carve out several hours a day for his favorite literature. In constant fear that his family would find out about his hobby, Kafka lived a double life, writing in the strictest confidence from his parents.
The author's debut took place in 1908 in the magazine Hyperion, which published several of his stories. During his lifetime, few people managed to read and watch Franz Kafka - due to many circumstances he published very little, led a solitary life and did not at all seek to show off his own talent. Most of his works were published after the death of the author - this happened in the summer of 1924 at the age of 40. Kafka died suddenly of tuberculosis.
