Born August 16, 1963 in Mexico City. In 1984 he began his career as a disc jockey at the popular Mexican rock radio station WFM, where he soon became a music producer.
In 1987, Inarritu took over as head of the television show Magia Gigital. From 1988 to 1990, he produced six full-length feature films. In 1990, Alejandro was appointed artistic director of Mexico's largest television company, Televisa, and in 1991 created the production company Zeta Film. At the same time, he studies the art of directing, shoots commercials.
In 1995, Inarritu directed his debut television mid-length thriller Detras del Dinero with Miguel Bose.
Alejandro's full-length debut based on Guillermo Arriaga's script "Bitch Love" brings the director nominations at prestigious film festivals and international fame.
After filming a commercial for BMW and taking part in the international project "September 11", Inarritu is shooting a new film "21 Grams" - a stylistic continuation of the film "Bitch Love" with Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro and Naomi Watts in the lead roles.
In 2006, the director directed the drama Babylon, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.
The film received a Golden Globe for Best Drama Film of 2006.
