Born November 14, 1961 in Namur (Belgium). He gained fame as the author of the ambitious French Trilogy (2002) - a series of interconnected films, each shot in its own genre: the thriller On the Run, the comedy A Wonderful Couple and the melodrama After Life. In 2003, the trilogy was awarded the Louis Delluc Prize. In 2006, the film "The Argument of the Weakest" claimed the Palme d'Or in Cannes.
