Was born on January 17, 1961 in Leningrad. In 1984 he graduated from the VTUZ at the Leningrad Metal Plant. One of the founders of "parallel cinema". In 1984 he organized the Mzhalalafilm experimental cinema studio. In 1988-1989. studied at the film school of Alexander Sokurov. Participant of numerous exhibitions of art and photography.
