Born on October 9, 1936 in Leninakan (now Gyumri).
Armenian Soviet director, screenwriter and actor.
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1976).

In 1952-1954 he studied at the Moscow Institute of Economics, in 1954-1958 - at the Yerevan Theater Institute. In 1964 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK (workshop of Efim Dzigan). Since 1959 he has been an entertainer at the State Pop Orchestra under the direction of K. Orbelian. In 1964-1972 and 1975-1994 he was a director of the Mosfilm studio, in 1972-1975 he was a director of the Armenfilm studio. Artistic director of the film "The Legend of the Buffoon" —1979. Co-writer for most of his films. Edmond Keosayan is the creator of the famous and super popular in the 1960s and 1970s series of films about the elusive avengers.
Father of directors David and Tigran Keosayanov.
The husband of actress Laura Gevorkyan.
He died on April 19, 1994 in Moscow. Buried at the Kuntsevo cemetery of the capital.
